The Challenge

A Fortune 500 technology company was hosting their annual charity gala at the Georgia World Congress Center — one of the largest convention facilities in the world, located in Downtown Atlanta. While the GWCC has indoor restrooms, the gala was using the outdoor plaza and terrace areas for a cocktail reception and seated dinner under a tent structure. The client had three non-negotiable requirements:

Our Assessment

We visited the GWCC terrace two weeks before the event to assess the layout. Our findings:

• Two restroom zones needed — one near the cocktail reception area and one adjacent to the dining tent
• Flat, paved surfaces — ideal for ADA accessibility with no grading concerns
